Puppy Training Program

More fun and less frustration!

Enjoy your puppy without the need to wear kevlar gloves, replace chewed shoes or experiencing a sense of  overwhelm.  This program will help you build a solid foundation for future training that helps build a confident, friendly and well behaved dog so you can  enjoy everything life has to offer, together!

The training you do now is for your future adult dog therefore, the time and training you put in now plays a significant role in future behaviours.

The 5-lesson Puppy Training Program is designed for puppies aged 8 to 16 weeks, with the latest start at 12 weeks.  Over the course of 10 weeks, you'll gain knowledge, support, and skills to help your puppy navigate their world confidently.

What's included:

The first lesson is a virtual coaching lesson that includes (but not limited to):

• Your in home puppy ‘set up’ to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for your puppy
• House training and setting you and your puppy up for success with a consistent routine
• Mouthing/nipping prevention and what to do when it happens and learning how to predict it
• Exposure training (socialization) and how to do it to safely.  How to build confidence in your puppy while reducing/preventing anxiety
• Proactive management to prevent unwanted behaviours from occurring including resource guarding , jumping, and setting up a consistent sleep schedule etc.

In-person Lessons 2 through 5 focus on essential skills to foster your puppy's development:

• Training games that build focus and help future behaviours such as recall and leash walking
• Learning how to walk calmly on a leash using games and play
• Learning to come to you when called (recall) with games and play
• Introduce your puppy to laying down in a specific area for relaxation (stationing or mat training) which is a great skill to prevent future counter 'surfing' or from being underfoot in the kitchen
• Crate training so your puppy has a safe location to settle themselves now and in the future.  Crate is also much safer for your dog when they are in a vehicle
• Self regulation and patience when they encounter exciting environments with people and dogs

This Puppy Training Program offers a range of resources and support to ensure you and your puppy thrive:

• Educational Materials: Each lesson is accompanied by detailed handouts and summaries tailored to the session's content. When beneficial, we provide video demonstrations to visually guide you through specific training techniques.

• Ongoing Support: Throughout the program, you can reach out via text and email communication that allows you to ask questions, share successes, and receive timely guidance.
