I hope this finds you sane, healthy and safe!  I have taken Right Start Puppy Class,  1-1 coaching and consultations live and on-line.  I understand that for some of you this is a new and unfamiliar way of connecting and learning.  I too was new to this technology when I starting taking on-line dog behaviour courses but I’m very comfortable now and it’s easier than it sounds.  I can assure you, on-line training and coaching works just as it would if I was in your home or in the class setting.

You don’t need an account or tech knowledge or special equipment.  You need your dog and food for reinforcing.

Clients are telling me on-line learning is easier than they thought.  Some even tell me they are now more inclined to use on-line technology to connect with others.   The world has changed and I’m keeping up with those changes for you.  You’ve got this!  We’ve got this!

Stay well!

April 7, 2020
As the weeks come and go, I’m starting to settle into the new normal.  Its not happening fast but with each day, Im wrapping my head around what ‘pandemic’ actually, means physically and world wide.  Its a bit overwhelming when I do get moments of understanding but grateful I’m not feeling overwhelmed for long or very often.

Dog Training Operations during COVID-19 1What I want YOU to know is that training is continuing and I am open for business to help you solve your dog behaviour problems.  All consultations will be online, subsequent lessons will be online until we need in-person lessons (keeping physical distance).  Some classes will also be online: Right Start Puppy Class (tba) and Life Skills Class (tba).

Equipment list to be online: Laptop, ipad/tablet or desktop computer.  All will usually have a camera and microphone built in.  Training equipment will be sent before the class starts.

Life is continuing with a new ‘normal’ and I hope that you are safe and well.  Training can continue and you can continue to seek and received help.  Stay well!!

Registration is now Open for the Mat Training Course.  This is a distance learning course.

April 2, 2020
Distance Learning: ‘Mat training’ course is in the works.  I’ll have registration details posted by April 4th.

  • Tuesday, April 7th  6pm. (14, 21, 28)
  • 4 weekly lessons
  • Max 5 participants
  • $126

By the end of this course, your dog will settle on a station mat (or bed) and stay until you release him/her.  This is great when you want to be in the kitchen without stepping around your dog or having your dog settle while you eat.   Mat work can also help those anxious dogs or busy dogs who would benefit from learning to settle and relax.   Stay Tuned!

Virtual Dog Training is available.  It’s a great option for puppy training and consultations.

March 19, 2020

I’ve created this page to keep you informed on my business operations for consults, privates and classes.  At this time, I have postponed all classes including outdoor classes until things calm down; until we get the OK from government or until the state of emergency is over.  Although we can keep ‘Social Distance’ in the outdoor classes, it  seems like the prudent decision at this time.   I feel we need to do our part to end this pandemic as soon as possible so we can get back to in person training.

Having said that:

  1. I will be posting videos and updates on this specific page.  I will also continue on my Facebook page
  2. Live on-line training and coaching: I will be available for online training/coaching.  In this day and age of technology we adapt to new styles of learning and getting help.  Online training has been offered for many years and it’s a great option to in person lessons and consults.  Pandemics restrict our lives but behaviour and learning for our dogs continues: it doesn’t stop for pandemics.  All you need is a phone or desktop computer or laptop.
  3. For those of you that have prepaid programs and lessons scheduled, we can reschedule or we can continue in person training, outdoors and honoring social distancing.

Virtual Consultations: It’s not necessary for me to see your dog’s problem behaviour in person and in fact, it is best that your dog not act out the unwanted behaviour.  There is no training per se during a virtual consult so it’s  a great option for you.  The consultation will start the change in the behaviour modification program and in person lessons can continue at a later date.  The virtual consult will be conducted just as an in-person consultation.  $150 +gst

Puppy Right Start Program (private in home):  I can’t stress it enough that early exposure (done correctly), early ground work training is vital to helping your puppy grow and mature into a confident dog.  In the Right Start Puppy Program  I am able to coach and guide at a distance while providing important knowledge and early training suggestions that are done in and around your home.  We can  get some lessons in and wait until the all clear is given and we can then meet in person for the remaining lessons.  You have options!  $399 +gst.

Email me if you have any questions about virtual coaching.  Stay safe.  Reach out if you are struggling mentally. Stay connected with your community!

Brain games and mental enrichment to keep your dog busy.  Lots of DIY and a few store bought.
